KUANTAN: A soon-to-be bridegroom who was on his way to have lunch with his fiancee before going to work was killed when his motorcycle was involved in a head-on collision with a lorry at Km9 Jalan Benta-Jerantut, today.

Lipis police chief Superintendent Ismail Man said, during the 1pm accident, Ahmad Solihin Fazuni, 21, who was heading to Kuala Lumpur from Kota Baru, died on the spot.

He said initial investigations revealed that Solihin was riding his motorcycle on a road that had sharp corners, before crashing head-on with the lorry that was coming from Jengka in Maran and heading to Gua Musang, Kelantan.

He added that the lorry driven by a 40-year-old man was laden with oil palm fruits.

"The victim from Kelantan who works as a barista in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, had intended to stop over at his fiancee's house to have lunch before going to work," he said when contacted.
