KUALA LUMPUR: Police have detained two friends of the accountant who was found dead at an industrial area in Kampung Cheras Baru to assist with investigations.

In a statement, Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Zam Halim Jamaludin said the two suspects who were friends aged 25 and 35 years old respectively were detained around Klang Valley yesterday.

"The two suspects detained were also remanded for seven days till Dec 18 to assist with investigations."

Meanwhile, he said that the post-mortem had found that the cause of death of the accountant was through injuries sustained from being hit with a blunt object.

"However, the motive of the murder and the actual location where the victim was killed is still under investigation," he said.

Earlier on Dec 11, it was reported the body of the accountant was found at the industrial area, here, by a passerby at about 6am.

The body was found face down and in the nude with multiple bruise marks on his body.

The 28-year-old victim was identified as an accountant in a private company and was confirmed by his next-of-kin.
