PETALING JAYA: The police forensic unit have arrived at Apartment Idaman in Damansara Damai, here to conduct a door-to-door examination.

Four police vehicles were spotted entering the premises of Block R at the apartment at 7:55 pm.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, confirmed the deployment, saying that the unit's presence was aimed at conducting a comprehensive house-to-house inspection.

He said the examination was crucial to uncover additional evidence and clues to aid the police investigation.

"The forensic unit and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will be involved in tonight's door-to-door examination," he said.

Earlier, members of the police's K9 Unit were seen arriving at the location and commencing inspections at Block R at around 5:10 pm.

Accompanied by a sniffer dog, K9 Unit members were then observed entering Block R alongside several police officers.

It is understood that the examination took place on the third and fourth floors of the block, which also houses the residence of the family of autistic murder victim Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, six.

After about 25 minutes, the team of police officers, along with the sniffer dog, was seen concluding the examination before departing the location at 5:40 pm.

Zayn Rayyan's body was discovered in a nearby drainage canal, approximately 200 meters from his home at around 10 pm on December 6.

His death was reclassified from sudden death to murder after a forensic examination revealed injuries to the child's neck and body, suspected to be the result of criminal activity.
