SIBU: Police are currently tracking down a man suspected of splashing red paint onto four pork-selling shops near here today.

Sibu police chief Assistant Commissioner Zulkipli Suhaili said they received four reports regarding the incident at about 8.47am yesterday.

"Upon reviewing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage through the complainant's mobile phone, it was discovered that the incident occurred at approximately 2.04am and was carried out by a suspect," he said in a statement.

Four investigation papers under Section 427 of the Penal Code have been opened.

Those found guilty could face imprisonment for not less than one year and not exceeding five years, a fine, or both.
