TANAH MERAH: Police here seized 6,000 'pil kuda' worth close to RM100,000 in a raid in Manal on Monday.

In the 8.30pm raid, a jobless 38-year-old man was also detained.

Tanah Merah district police chief Dep Supt Suzaimi Mohamad said, the raid was conducted by a team of officers and personnel from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation division, and the Task Force and criminal division of the Tanah Merah district police headquarters, based on intel obtained.

He said, earlier, police detained a man riding a Demak Evo Z motorcycle.

"Based on checks on the suspect, police found 24 red-coloured pills believed to be 'pil kuda' in the pocket of his pants.

"Police also found 30 plastic packets containing pills in a bag carried by the man, the pills were estimated to weigh 650g.

"We also seized the suspect's motorcycle and RM2,500 in cash for further action under the Dangerous Drugs (forfeiture of property) Act 1988," he said at a press conference at the Tanah Merah district police headquarters, here, today.

"The suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine following a urine test," he said, adding that the suspect was remanded for seven days to facilitate investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
