Police are on the hunt for a Myanmar national believed to be involved in various robbery cases here.
Seremban district police deputy chief Superintendent Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said, the 30-year-old suspect known as Ali, was believed to have committed the crime with another accomplice.
He said, the suspect’s activity was discovered following the arrest of a 29-year-old man, who was detained at Taman Rasa Sayang Senawang here on Aug 6 at 6am.
“Prior to the arrest, the two suspects had robbed a house and while trying to escape, they came across several people who were residents from the area.
“Ali managed to flee from the scene while his accomplice was arrested. Checks conducted on the suspect found a watch, mobile phone and a stolen ring estimated at RM2,000,” he said at a press conference at Seremban district police headquarters here today.
He said, investigations showed that the suspects have been involved in more than 10 robbery cases involving RM50,000.
“Police have obtained Ali’s photo fit, and urged the public with information on the suspect to contact the police at 06-6014 999,” said Sulizmie.
In another development, Sulizmie said the police had also managed to arrest a criminal seven hours after the suspect was involved in a robbery, on Aug 10.
He said the police received a report on the break-in incident in Bandar Seremban Selatan, at 10am before the suspect was arrested at a house in Taman Seremban Jaya here at 5pm.
“The 36-year-old suspect was found at the house with valuable items believed to be stolen from the victim,” he said.
He said the suspect has been remanded to assist with the investigation under Section 457 of the Penal code.
