BUKIT MERTAJAM: A total of 26 Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) candidates in Penang obtained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 last year, a dip of almost 50 per cent from the 50 in 2014.

Deputy state Education director Yeoh Kok Kheng said 13 schools in the state achieved 100 per cent passes.

The top three schools in Penang with the highest number of candidates who passed were SMJK Jit Sin (174), SMK Datuk Haji Ahmad Badawi (91) and SMJK Perempuan Cina (80).

“Out of 2,267 candidates who sat for STPM last year, 2,211 candidates (97.53 per cent) managed to get full passes,” he said.
