MALAYSIANS will have their own tune to dance to after Celcom Axiata launched its ‘Football Mad Territory’ campaign yesterday.

The campaign’s theme song ‘#gilabola’ by Joe Flizzow of Too Phat fame is set to dominate the airwaves in the lead up to and during football’s biggest extravaganza in Brazil.

The song and its music video aim to bring the samba spirit to Celcom customers, said Celcom Axiata’s chief marketing officer Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin.

“We believe football and music make a perfect combo that enables the customer to soak up the electric atmosphere and get fans pumped up in anticipation of the tournament,” said Zalman during the launch in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

“The campaign is set to lift the spirit of Malaysians through adrenaline-pumping music, engage them to join in the celebration with the rest of the world and encourage their participation in various Celcom activities.”

#gilabola is a song reproduced from Flizzow’s own composition ‘Havoc’ but with a few additions.

“It’s not a straight lift from Havoc,” said Flizzow. “I did produce extra elements and instrumentation to give it the Brazil vibe.”

Malaysians can hear and see ‘#gilabola’ immediately on radio, television and social media including Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. The song can also be downloaded from www.celcom.com.my.

Fans can share their passion for football by posting their football moments and pictures on social media using the hashtag #gilabola. Flizzow will use these postings to produce a fans’ music video which will then be uploaded on YouTube. By Devinder Singh
