THE Straits Times Index (STI) ended 24.23 points, or 0.74 per cent, higher to 3,293.73 points yesterday.
The FTSE ST Mid Cap Index gained 0.36 per cent while the FTSE ST Small Cap Index lost 0.17 per cent.
Among the actives, SingTel appreciated by 1.04 per cent, OCBC Bank was unchanged and Global Logistic was also flat.
OF the outperforming sectors, FTSE ST Financials advanced by 0.92 per cent at the close.
Of its two biggest stocks, DBS Group Holdings appreciated by 1.18 per cent and UOB gained 3.58 per cent. Agencies
