ALOR STAR: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir yesterday condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza, which has claimed more than 100 lives.

Mukhriz said it was disheartening to note that the world superpowers were still siding with Israel despite knowing that there had been no reported casualties on the Israeli side as compared to the high death toll among the Palestinians.

He called on the international community to pressure Israel to suspend its raid on Gaza and allow humanitarian missions to deliver supplies to victims.

“I hope the military-led Egypt government would open its borders to allow humanitarian missions to transport food and medical supplies to Gaza,” Mukhriz said after attending breaking of fast with the
state Wanita Umno wing here yesterday.

Present were state Wanita Umno chief Datuk Mazhah Hamid, executive council member Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim and Nasmir Holdings managing director Datuk Kadhar Shah Abdul Razak.

During the event, Mukhriz distributed necessities and cash to some 300 single mothers in the state sponsored by Nasmir Holdings.

Mukhriz also expressed his full support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Wisma Putra for their firm stand in condemning the Israeli government.
