ALOR STAR: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir had joined the chorus of leaders in condemning Israel aggression in the Gaza strip which had claimed more than 100 lives including children.

As such, he called for the international community to intensify pressure on Israel to suspend its raid in Gaza and allow humanitarian mission to deliver supplies to the victims.

"I hope the military-ruled Egypt government would open its border with Gaza to allow humanitarian missions to transport food and medical supplies to Gaza," Mukhriz said after attending an iftar with state Wanita Umno wings at Seri Mentaloon today.

Present were state Wanita Umno chief Datuk Mazhah Hamid, her exco member Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim and Nasmir Holdings managing director Datuk Kadhar Shah Abdul Razak.

Mukhriz also expressed his full support on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Wisma Putra firm stand in condemning the Israeli government.

He said Malaysia would continue providing humanitarian mission to Gaza while urging everybody to pray for the safety of the people in Gaza, including holding special mass prayers.

"I wonder if it was a pre-planned or mere coincidence that the Israelis launching the aggression campaign on Gaza every time Muslim celebrate the holy month of Ramadan.

"This showed their absolute arrogance in defying the wish and the stand of the international community by carrying out military assault on Gaza as Muslims are observing fasting duty," he said.
