SHAH ALAM: Former Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) chief executive officer Tan Sri Ani Arope passed away at 5.26am today.

He was 83.

Ani, who was TNB chief from 1990 to 1996 was undergoing treatment at Sime Darby Ramsay Medical Center in Subang Jaya for prostate cancer.

He had been battling the disease for two years.

The highly-renown corporate figure who had served various multinationals and private companies before, such as Guthrie, left behind a loving wife and three children.

His body was brought to TNB Islamic Centre in Bangsar for family and friends to pay their last respect before the burial ceremony took place at Shah Alam Muslim Cemetary after Zuhr prayers, today.
