FOR the coming Ramadan month, M Suites Hotel Johor is offering diners a delectable buffet for buka puasa featuring local, international and kampung delights with a Nusantara theme.

The dishes are mostly combinations from the three Nusantara countries -- Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

The buffet at Myra Bistro has six rotating menus offering more than 100 dishes.

Sous chef Zamani Muhammad said the culinary team will whip up a feast of regional favourites such as asam pedas, ayam masak rendang padang, daging keluak and butter prawns to give diners a memorable buka puasa.

"There will be more than 15 counters and sections catering to different cuisines like Indian, Malay, Chinese, Thai and many more," said Zamani.

Guests can break fast with an array of delectable soups, including sweet corn soup with crab sticks, tom yam soup, sup ayam macaroni with condiments, sup tulang rawan with condiments, and Szechuan soup, among others.

No breaking of fast would be complete without bubur lambuk as well as pengat pisang, bubur pulut hitam, honeydew sago with coconut milk, bubur kacang merah, pengat keledek, and others.

Diners who want their daily dose of nutrients will be happy with the appetisers and salads.

The salad bar will not only have imported greens and condiments, but also various kinds of kerabu, ulam-ulam, dates, gado-gado, sotong kangkong, jeruk and keropok.

Dishes such as special meat nasi briyani, nasi tomato, mee bandung, nasi minyak, Chinese chilli crabs, sayur lemak nangka muda with mushroom, ikan goreng berempah, ayam penyet, capati with potato allo ghobi, kari laksa, laksa Johor and teppanyaki among others, will be served up by Zamani and his team.

Other offerings include roast whole lamb with spices, sotong tumis bercili, mee rebus tulang, ikan panggang (pari, cencaru) with dips, sotong kangkung and Hainanese chicken rice.

Guests should not leave the restaurant without tasting the assorted desserts.

The pastry chefs will spoil you with chocolate fondue, kuih nagasari, kuih puteri sebilik, tapai pulut, mini dodol, mini wajik, kuih koci, pulut serunding, kuih lopes, lepat pisang, lepat ubi and also lots of mouthwatering ice cream to choose from.

Its food and beverage manager Wan Norazlan Wan Abdul Ghani said the hotel will be providing prayer rooms for the guests to perform their Maghrib, Isyak and Terawih prayers.

"There will be an imam to lead the prayers throughout the fasting month," he said.

The buffet is priced at RM78++ per adult and RM35++ per child aged five to 12. Infants eat for free.

There is also an early bird promotion of RM65++ per adult and RM30++ per child for those who make their reservation before June 20.

For every 10 adults, one complimentary Ramadan buffet is offered (not valid for early bird promotion).
