MERSING: Two National Service (NS) staff were killed, while another two were injured after a head-on collision involving two four-wheel drive vehicles at Jalan Penyambong, Simpang Tiga in Tanjung Resang here this morning.

It was learnt that one of the NS vehicles had lost control and hit another that was in-coming in the 9.45am incident.

The deceased were identified as Ismail Muhamat, 57, and Radin Benni, 53, who were both killed at the scene.

An emergency response team from the Endau Fire and Rescue Department was immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving a distress call at 9.58am.

Five personnel were involved in the one and a half hour operation to extricate the victims before being sent to the Mersing Hospital.
