KUALA LUMPUR: Local animation studio Monsta is grateful to have regained access to its YouTube channel which was hacked on Monday.

In a statement by the company on Instagram yesterday, the company, responsible for popular titles such as Boboiboy and Mechamato, said the problem was solved within 48 hours.

"Monsta extends its thanks to YouTube and Google for their invaluable assistance.

"The collaboration between Monsta's Network team and them has successfully restored access to our Monsta Channel account. "While some videos remain missing, we are immensely grateful that the situation was resolved in under 48 hours," it said.

Monsta added that it was also grateful to its fans and other close parties who had helped out indirectly.

"In response to this incident, Monsta is actively enhancing our security measures and has tightened access to all official accounts.

"We have taken this experience as a valuable lesson and have decided to expand our presence by adding more official television broadcasting stations across Southeast Asian countries.

"This expansion could include partnerships with local television stations or official streaming platforms such as Netflix, which we believe will provide greater stability in broadcasting and deepen the trust among Monsta's loyal viewers.

Earlier, the Monsta Channel which has 13.5 million subscribers was hacked and renamed to MicroStrategy US.
