KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Cico Harahap has no source of income as his health problems have made it difficult to get jobs.

Singer Salimey Abu Bakar said that the 46-year-old aritste had told him this when he visited his friend at Ampang Hospital, recently.

"Cico Harahap told me that he has no source of income since facing health problems.

"Nobody wants to hire him for acting work because he now has problems with speaking," said the singer in a Harian Metro report yesterday.,

Salimey added that Cico, whose real name is Ezzaq Farrouq Harahap Jamaludin, was treated in the hospital for heart problems that saw his legs swelling up.

He was also allowed to return home since last Wednesday in time for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

"By chance, I had visited one of my relatives in the hospital the day before Raya and saw Cico who was also being treated there.

"As far as I know, Cico has had heart problems for a long time and he was admitted to the hospital because his leg was swollen.

"Cico told me that the doctor allowed him to go home the next day (Wednesday) to celebrate with his son," he said.

Salimey added that his friend, the son of veteran singer and actress Uji Rashid, was sad since no artiste association, such as

Seniman or Karyawan, has offered him any help.

Salimey said that he plans to assist Cico by trying to get help from the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, soon.

"The Prime Minister's Office does have a slot to help artistes who need help.

"I had previously helped Ali of XPDC to receive aid from the Prime Minister through his political secretary, Ahmad Farhan Fauzi.

"However, I need to check on Cico's health condition first to see if he can qualify to receive help, zakat contributions, and so on," he said.

Recently, Salimey shared Cico's condition as he was being treated in the hospital via a post on Instagram.
