KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran artiste Sabri Yunus, 63, revealed that he has not prepared for Eid for quite some time now.

The longstanding comedian, actor, singer, director, and host said that since the death of his wife, Noraya Mohd Yusuf in 2007, he has only celebrated Aidilfitri with his three children and son-in-law.

However, the Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu star added that this year would be different since he has a wife, Ardini Angeline Tan, 57, according to Oh Bulan!.

Sabri said they will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri for the first time as a married couple in Kelantan.

"Of course, I feel more excited because this time I'm not the only one with a wife, the children also have a mother. My siblings have a sister-in-law, and my mother has a daughter-in-law.

"It means a holiday not only for the two of us but also for the family. I had the intention of going back to celebrate in Kelantan. The excitement feels natural.

"I'll be bringing my wife to my family home, Angeline Tan, a Malaysian Chinese," he said in the news report.

When asked about his preparations, the Pengkalan Chepa-born artiste explained that his wife was an easygoing person, and could eat any Malay cuisine.

"I didn't buy anything to prepare for the Hari Raya celebrations because I will wear clothes that are rarely or have not been worn before. Eid is not an excuse to overspend.

"I will celebrate with the children first. Only after that will we leave for Kelantan. The children will also drive over later in their respective vehicles," he said.

Sabri tied the knot with fellow artiste Tan (now known as Ardini) at a private ceremony in Perlis on Oct 14, 2023.

The couple got to know each other in the 1990s through the popular Malay sitcom Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu.
