KUALA LUMPUR: The organiser of the 2024 StarVendors Mega Raya Fest, Star Vendors Event Sdn Bhd has announced the withdrawal of actress Ruhainies Zainul Ilyas from the event from March 29 to April 1.

Star Vendors Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Saripah Mustapha said in a statement that hopefully the decision will put an end to the boycott move by members of the community since a few days ago.

"Following the issues that have affected two members of the StarVendors family, we at StarVendors always listen to any grouses from all sides and parties and we do not intend for such an issue to linger on.

"We abide by and respect Ruhainies's decision to withdraw from taking part in the event at KLCC this time round. It is hoped that with such a decision, all parties will be satisfied," said Saripah.

The event was slated to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here.

StarVendors also expressed hope that any issues could be resolved amicably and they could continue to help entrepreneurs and local artistes involved in the world of commerce and businesses.

"Our efforts are to assist all entrepreneurs and artistes and to provide opportunities for all to earn a living during the holy month of Ramadan. We pray that the issues and problems can be resolved amicably," she said.

Earlier, there were quarters who wanted to boycott the event if Ruhainies remained as one of the vendors.

This followed the recent controversy involving the actress who was caught being suspected of committing close proximity with actor and singer, Aliff Aziz.
