KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran rockers Slam are going all out to rock Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) in KLCC, Jalan Ampang here at 8.30pm on June 8.

Slam's maiden concert at the prestigious concert hall will showcase the talents of vocalist Zamani, guitarist Shah, keyboardist Eddie, drummer Man and bassist Lili with 16 songs over 90 minutes.

In an interview at DFP today, Zamani said that they were "very excited and honoured" to perform at the DFP, which can house a maximum of 920 people.

"We have never thought of performing at the DFP, which is an exclusive and world-class concert hall, so when DFP extended an invite to us last year, we were all overjoyed," said Zamani.

Zamani added that Slam would perform many of their less known songs such as "Malam Dan Semalam", "Terasing Dalam Sepi" and "Warna Kehidupan" in the concert.

"These will form 50 per cent of our repertoire and of course we will not forget our more popular hits like "Gerimis Mengundang", "Tak Mungkin Berpaling" and "Mentari Muncul Lagi"," he said, adding that the group had yet to decide on guest musicians.

Slam, formed in 1993, has 11 studio albums which include "Kesan Terbukti" (1995), "Slam Live Konsert Unplugged" (1997), and "Dalam Harapan" (1998).
