KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actor and television host Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan has been warded at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Cheras here for an undisclosed illness.

His son Zul Qayyum said in a TikTok video yesterday that the former Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? quiz master had just been hospitalised, and his condition was stable.

"My father was not feeling well yesterday, he was supposed to have appeared in (TV programme) Mega Spontan. Let's all pray for his speedy recovery," said Zul Qayyum.

Jalaluddin, 69, is the son of the late religious scholar Tan Sri Hassan Azhari and the younger brother of former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan and former Selangor State Executive Councillor the late Datuk Fuad Hassan.

He has been acting since the 1980s and his best known films include XX Ray II, Jimi Asmara, Sayang Salmah, Awas, 1957 Hati Malaya, Cicakman 2: Planet Hitam and Mat Kilau.
