KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and director Farid Kamil said he is trying his best to save his marriage to actress Diana Daniellle following divorce proceedings at the Lower Syariah Court in Shah Alam today.

Farid, 42, whose full name is Farid Kamil Zahari, said he is seeking a peaceful resolution to the issue.

Farid in court today had refused to recite the 'lafaz talak' to formalise the divorce as he still believed in the marriage.

"I'm trying to save my family through peaceful means in court. May Allah grant me wisdom and guidance.

"I still love Diana and of course, our two children, Muhammad and Aurora," he told Berita Harian Online.

Farid, who is the star of the upcoming film 'Anwar: The Untold Story', denied that there was a crisis which led to the rift in their marriage.

"Actually, nothing happened. As a husband, I had no problems.

"Ask Diana what her problem is," he said in a WhatsApp reply.

Farid said although he is facing domestic problems, he is remaining calm.

"Right now, I'm busy on location while filming. Alhamdulillah (Thank god), my focus is now on just seeking an income," he said.

Diana had reportedly filed for divorce earlier this month, citing irreconcilable differences and 'shiqaq' (prolonged conflict).

The case came up for mention at the Lower Syariah Court in Shah Alam today.

Following Farid's refusal to recite the 'lafaz cerai', Syariah Judge Shukran Yusof ordered Farid and Diana to undertake a conciliatory committee (JKP) process.

Farid and Diana tied the knot on November 2012 and have two children.
