KUALA LUMPUR: After a gap of six years since his last concert here, internationally-acclaimed Indian singer-composer AR Rahman is slated to perform here again on Jan 28.

Dubbed AR Rahman — Secret Of Success — Live In Malaysia 2023, the concert, presented by DMY Creation Sdn Bhd, will take place at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

DMY Creation founder and chairman Datuk Mohamed Yusoff said that apart from boosting the local music scene here, staging the concert by the illustrious and award-winning musician was also aimed at boosting the local tourism industry as they would be promoting it in more than 14 countries including the United Kingdom, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Indonesia.

"Inspired by the 'Malaysia, Truly Asia' slogan, we hope to take this opportunity to promote Malaysia as a tourist destination, especially as a destination for musical event during this post-Covid-19 era," he said at a press conference at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur today.

Mohamed also said they were also looking at having 60,000 concertgoers to fill up the concert venue.

Tickets, priced between RM88 and RM688 (early bird prices as opposed to normal prices between RM188 and RM888), will be available on www.ticket2u.com.my from Sept 19 onwards.
