KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Sharnaaz Ahmad has been released after being remanded by police for three days.

The George Town-born actor was detained at the Sentul Police Station for allegedly kicking and punching a security guard recently.

Sharnaaz, 37, said that he had given his full cooperation to the police, and would prepare himself for any pending court case.

"I will give an explanation soon. Not too sure when the court case will begin," he said in a news report today.

The star of Juvana, Jebat and Polis Evo 3 thanked the police for doing their duty with professionalism.

Last Saturday, it was reported that an award-winning actor was detained by police for attacking a security guard at a condominium in Segambut.

The guard alleged that the actor kicked him and punched him in the face.

"I don't do crazy things. Wait for the true story to prevail," said Sharnaaz.

Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai said that Sharnaaz's case was being investigated under Section 323 and 506 of the Penal Code.

Sharnaaz won Popular Film Actor and Popular TV Actor in Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 2017.
