KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Rita Rudaini has insisted that she is not against vaccinations for Covid-19, and is merely waiting for such vaccines to be accepted by most countries.

The 45-year-old artiste, who has been widely criticised on social media for allegedly being an "anti-vaxxer" said that Covid-19 vaccines were still being tested and improved, and vaccination had not been made compulsory by the law yet.

"I am not anti-vaccination. I don't stop my loved ones from getting vaccinated, it all depends on the individual's choice," said Rita in a news report today.

"I feel that I need a bit more time, when most countries accept the need for people to get vaccinated, and these vaccines are proven to be effective in curbing Covid-19."

Rita also said that she was all right "staying at home" and purchasing household goods online.

"Most people who know me can attest that I only leave home when there is something important to do," she said.

Rita added that even though she was not allowed on film sites as she had not been vaccinated, she was "okay" because she currently had a perfume business.

"It does not bother me that I am not accepted on film sets. I have my Crush perfume business, and my products are sold in more than 40 AEON shopping centres nationwide.

"If all goes well, they will also be available at Watson pharmacies soon."
