KUALA LUMPUR: Besides having a huge following locally, the Indonesian version of the popular kids animation series Didi & Friends has since garnered one million subscribers on its official YouTube channel.

Confirming this, animation studio Digital Durian said that Didi & Friends had been getting great response from the region.

According to its records, subscribers in the region have clocked in more than 32 million viewing hours since the channel was launched in April 2017.

Didi & Friends producer Che Yusaidi Che Yusoff said that there was a significant increase in the number of subscribers from the republic ever since the onset of coronavirus pandemic early this year.

"Based on our studies, the Indonesian version has also received tremendous support from Indonesian expatriates here," he said in a news report yesterday.

"Currently, the show's fanbase from Indonesia is the biggest international market, and we at Digital Durian are grateful to end the year with an achievement at a global scale," he said.

Besides distribution efforts here and in the republic, Didi & Friends is also available in five other languages — English, Thai, Spanish, Portuguese and Hindi.

Didi & Friends is aired on Astro Ceria every Monday at 11am. All its episodes can be streamed exclusively for Astro subscribers, via Astro GO application.
