KUALA LUMPUR: Having a significant other that’s also a singer is surely an added blessing or two.
Cooling down tense situations between two lovebirds with a mellifluous baritone is one and composing a special tune just for that special person is another.
That’s exactly what singer Sufian Suhaimi has done when he revealed that his latest single, Terasa Ada, was inspired by his passion for the love of his life, actress Elfira Loy.
“The song was actually gradually recorded in May, as the idea for it began forming bit by bit in my mind. The chorus itself was created about a year ago. I even uploaded part of it onto the social media platform as a teaser. But the song was only completed this year,” said Sufian in a news report by BH Online.
He added: “It’s apt that it’ll be launched at the right time to coincide with what’s happening in my life right now. Overall, the song applies to all of the other couples out there who are madly in love too.
Sufian explained that the “soul” of the tune was not present at the very beginning when he had started to craft it. It only became very clear later during the process of completing it, just when Sufian had found true love.
“The song is about a deep need to express how someone has fallen head over heels for another person. So much so that nothing could separate them. And no matter what happens later, they will still be together,” he said.
On another happy note, Sufian revealed that he and Elfira have already fixed a date for their engagement, which will happen on Oct 6 at Elfira’s family home.
