KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Sufian Suhaimi says that he and Rania Al Sadat have amicably agreed not to carry on with their relationship citing that they finally realised that marriage is not on the cards for them just yet.
In a news report today, Sufian, 31, said Rania had also returned the ring which he presented as a gift when he sent a 'merisik' entourage to Rania's family home last October.
"There's no issue between us. We're still friends. It's just that marriage is no longer on the cards.
"We've come to this decision and both of us agreed to call it off. Both sides accepted this decision without holding any grudges," he said in the report.
Sufian added that initially they were supposed to tie the knot last year, but as the supposed big day drew near, they both thought that they were not ready to take the plunge just yet.
He added the decision was made two weeks ago.
Sufian also denied that the relationship was a gimmick for social media content to keep himself relevant in the industry.
