KUALA LUMPUR: Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has launched two new models: the Pro 6 Plus and the M5 Note.

The Pro 6 Plus comes with a 5.7-inch super AMOLED display, with 2560x1440 resolution, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and runs a Samsung Exynos 8890 processor.

The smartphone features a 12MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. It also boasts a new innovation from Meizu – mCharge, its fast-charging batteries with a total capacity of 3400mAh.

The M5 Note boasts a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080p resolution, 3GB RAM and is powered by a Helio P10 processor.

It has 32GB of storage, as well as a 13MP back camera and 5MP front camera. The battery also features a fast-charging battery with a capacity of 4000mAh.

The Pro 6 Plus comes in three colours – Grey, Silver and Gold, and retails at RM1,999; while the M5 Note, priced at RM849, is also available in three colours – Space Grey, Silver and Champagne Gold.

Meizu, one of China's top smartphone brands, was established in 2003. It began as a maker of MP3 players, before expanding into the smartphone market in 2008.

E-commerce giant Alibaba Group invested more than RM590 million in the company to fuel its aggressive expansion.
