KUALA LUMPUR: HSS Engineering Bhd is expanding its international operations and aims to have the venture account for 25 per cent of its total income by 2027.
The company wants to use its infrastructure engineering experience to support rising economies in South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the ASEAN area, according to executive vice chairman Tan Sri Ir. Kuna Sittampalam.
Last year the company secured several contracts in emerging economies across the regions.
This year, it secured a consultancy services contract for the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway Project for RM15 million in Cambodia.
The company has won a contract to provide project management consultancy for the Jakarta Light Rail Transit in collaboration with Japan-based Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd.
On the domestic front, Sittampalam said the company is optimistic about the accelerated implementation of mega projects in Malaysia, with the government's call to expedite high-impact projects.
He said that HSS is keen to capitalise on the anticipated growth and strengthen its position as the country's central digital data depository for transportation, water, rail, and highways.
Sittampalam said that the company sees significant growth potential in the emerging sectors of data centres and renewable energy and plans to further penetrate these markets as part of its diversification strategy.
"We are encouraged by the policies of governments across the region to promote sustainable economic growth through strategic infrastructure projects.
Sittampalam added that HSS's multi-pronged growth strategies for domestic and overseas markets will elevate the company to be an internationally recognised player in the engineering industry.
