KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Land said that the delivery of Maya Bay Residences will be a testament to the township's careful planning, which has resulted in a 95 per cent take-up rate for the residential units and a 100 per cent take-up rate for its retail podium.

The developer recently held a topping-off ceremony for Maya Bay, Gamuda Cove's first high-rise residential development.

Brandon Yong, general manager of Gamuda Cove, said that the township welcomed the first batch of residents earlier this year with the vacant possession (VP) of its flagship landed residential development.

He said that more residents will move to the township, with the VP of Maya Bay scheduled for March 2024.

Maya Bay is made up of three resort-style serviced apartment towers totaling 972 units. The built-up areas range from 550 to 968 square metres. There are 35 retail outlets on the retail podium.

Each unit has been designed with practical layouts to accommodate a variety of lifestyles, including dual-key units, and has been configured to maximise natural lighting and ventilation.

According to Yong, the township was thoughtfully planned to include a unique mix of homes and commercial spaces interspersed with over 200 acres of parks, lakes, and waterways, as well as 75 kilometres of walking and cycling paths.

"Given the vast 1,500-acre canvas in Gamuda Cove, we have a unique opportunity to create a timeless community. We're blending innovation, technology, and sustainability with a commitment to preserving the hometown feel.

"This ensures that both residents and visitors can enjoy a harmonious balance of green spaces, commercial options, and recreational amenities, all thoughtfully designed for easy access and convenience," he said.

The 60-acre Central Park, SplashMania Waterpark, and Discovery Park, according to Yong, are all within walking distance of each other.

He said that the existing e-tram line connecting Discovery Park to Townsquare and SplashMania will be extended to Maya Bay by 2026, improving sustainable intracity connectivity even further.

Townsquare, the township's first commercial centre, will feature retail and alfresco dining, he said.

Maya Bay is one of the first developments to employ the Industrialised Building System (IBS). IBS homes are constructed with pre-fabricated components or modules that are manufactured off-site in a controlled factory setting, resulting in a lower carbon footprint and significantly less waste.

Yong said that the positive response to Gamuda Cove's residential and commercial developments has encouraged the upcoming launch of Cove Centrum, a new mixed-integrated development.

Cove Centrum, according to him, is a natural evolution of the company's commitment to making Gamuda Cove a vibrant and dynamic place to live and invest.

This European-inspired commercial hub will be connected by cobbled pedestrian streets and an e-tram boulevard and will be located just one tram stop away from Maya Bay.

Cove Centrum will be adjacent to SplashMania and will lead to Central Park, which will feature a grand fountain in the central plaza.
