At the gathering, the participants were spotted flying the Palestine flags and wrapped in Palestinian chequered keffiyeh scarves.

"We decided to join the rally today to show our protest and condemn Israel's acts against the Palestinians and in the Gaza Strip.

"I was informed by my friends in Kuala Lumpur that they attended a similar gathering held in Kuala Lumpur recently, which was joined by the Malaysian prime minister," said a local who only wanted to be known as Salehae.

On Tuesday, some 16,000 Malaysians organised a rally to protest against Israel's attacks on Palestine.

Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, at least 5,000 Palestinians have been killed amid Israel's heavy air strike bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
