KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima, one of Malaysia's leading media groups, is organising a picnic featuring celebrities, performances, games, workshops and an array of kuih.

It is a free public event in collaboration with Keretapi Sarong 2023 and will be held on Sept 16 from 2pm to 6pm at Taman Kolonial, Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad in Kuala Lumpur.

Attendees can dress up in their favourite traditional outfits, enjoy a variety of kuih and coffee from KUEH Cafe, as well as join in an afternoon of exciting performances by Keretapi Sarong, Marsha, Lost Spaces, Syafiq Farhain, Haiza and Amir Jahari.

There will also be activities like traditional games, ikat sarong workshops and coffee art painting.

Attendees can look forward to appearances by Malaysia's favourite radio personalities from Hot FM, Kool 101, Molek FM, Fly FM and Eight FM, as well as giveaways from popular streaming platform Tonton.

The star-studded event will conclude with an exclusive screening of the upcoming film, 'Doh', and a chance for the public to meet celebrities from the film featuring Syafiq Kyle, Aida Amron, Sheryln Seo, Fabian Loo and Haris Md Noor.

Group managing director of Media Prima Rafiq Razali said: "Kuih Piknik is our unique way to embrace the multicultural spirit that defines our country and celebrate occasions that bring us together as Malaysians.

"As the nation's leading media group, we have the tools to create an event that helps unify Malaysians under one umbrella and inspire a sense of patriotism by celebrating the traditions and heritage of kuih, our mouth-watering Malaysian snack and sweets.

"Whether it's kuih lapis, ang ku or putu mayam, we cherish these delectable kuih at all times. Organising events that unify Malaysians brings so much joy to us at Media Prima as we value diversity in our company. We look forward to seeing all of you there!" he added.

Media Prima's Manis Pahit Bersama campaign aims to bring people together and strengthen relationships among the rakyat through their love for kuih. The company hopes the finale of its campaign will create a sense of togetherness and unite people to celebrate Hari Kebangsaan and Hari Malaysia.
