The world No. 15 beat Egypt's world No. 81 Yassin Elshafei 14-12, 11-5, 11-5 in 36 minutes.
The German Open champion will face the winner of the match between France's sixth seed Auguste Dussourd and India's Abhay Singh in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile national No. 4 Aifa Azman lost to Egypt's world No. 6 Nour El Tayeb 11-2, 11-5, 11-5 in the second round of the Manchester Open.
