KUALA LUMPUR: Duncan Lee made short work of local player Anson Wong to qualify for the second round of the Hong Kong PSA Challenge Cup today.

The Sabah-born needed just 22 minutes to win 11-5, 11-8, 11-1. He plays second seed Matthew Lai of Hong Kong next.

In the women's competition, Goh Zhi Xuan also advanced to the second round with an 11-5, 11-6, 11-7 win over Hong Kong' Ka Huen Leung.

The Melaka-born will face sixth seed Colette Sultana of Malta tomorrow.

Zhi Xuan, who won the Redtone International Junior Open Under-19 title in KL last month, is confident of beating Colette.

"She is slow on the court, and I have a chance to reach the quarter-finals," said world No. 160 Zhi Xuan.
