KUALA LUMPUR: Asian giants China are edging closer to the 200 gold medal mark at the ongoing Hangzhou Asian Games.

With four days of competition remaining, the host country remains comfortably in the lead with a massive 171 gold, 94 silver and 51 bronze haul.

Japan are a distant second on 37-51-59 while South Korea are third with 33-45-70.

India (18-31-32) and Uzbekistan (16-16-22) round out a top-five that remains unchanged since yesterday.

Malaysia is currently 16th overall with a 3-4-16 haul to date.
