KUALA LUMPUR: There are many people from around the world who are interested to become the national swimming coach of Malaysia,

After Australian Paul Birmingham quit as national coach, 26 foreign coaches have applied to be his replacement.

Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM) secretary general Mae Chen said 26 coaches from around the world are keen to train the national swimmers.

ASUM have set the deadline for application for the national coaching job as end of this month.

After 10 years with the national squad, Birmingham tendered his resignation letter three months ago with the Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang as his last assignment.
