KUALA LUMPUR: The national gymrama squad aim to make a clean sweep of all six gold medals at stake in the 10th Asean School Games (ASG) as the event begins tomorrow.

Technical delegation official, Patrina Low said three of the gymnasts in the squad, competed in last year’s edition in Singapore.

“At last year’s ASG, Malaysia won all six gold medals and this time, we hope that we get to maintain that record on home soil,” said Low, who expects Thailand to be Malaysia’s main rivals.

Sea Games double gold medallist Izzah Amzan, Tammy Ng and Rayna Hoh competed in the previous edition, and will once again take to the mats this year along with 15-year-old, Iris Hoo.

All eyes will be on 18-year-old Izzah, who recited the oath at the opening ceremony on Friday, as she won four gold medals in the last event.

For this year’s event, six gold medals are up for grabs in various categories, including the team event, overall individual, hoops, ball, clubs and ribbon, to be held at Gymnasium 1 at the National Sports Council (NSC) in Bukit Jalil.
