KUANTAN: Defending champions Bukit Aman and Pulapol will face each other in Wednesday’s IGP Cup Premier Division final at the Wisma Belia Stadium.

The Federal Police outfit and Pulapol defeated Selangor and Johor with 5-1 score lines respectively in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Wellorince Wilis scored a brace for Bukit Aman (seventh and 21st minutes) with Azreen Rizal Nasir (17th), Maxhans Chisti (45th) and Mohd Fitri Abd Manan (59th) completing the rout while Faizal Reza Mohd Noor replied for Selangor in the 41st minute.

Bukit Aman team manager Mohd Rizaudden Abdullah views Pulapol as a team that have been playing well and one that should be respected.

“Baljit Singh is their main player and we will need to stop him from scoring. Off course, we will try to stop them from picking up penalty corners. That has been their forte in this tournament,” said Rizaudden.

“My players have been together for the last five years with very minor changes. We started training five days before the start of the fasting month.”

Pulapol team manager DSP William Michael Lazaroo said the final is expected to be an exciting affair.

“We could have put on a better show against Johor had the players taken their chances well,” said Lazaroo.

“The final against Bukit Aman is definitely going to be an exciting affair as both teams are of equal strength.”

Pulapol goals were from Mohd Nasir Zainol Abidin (fifth and 38th minutes), Baljit (43rd), Mohd Fuad Aziz (45th) and Mohd Nurubaidillah Awang (59th) while Johor replied through Mohd Zairil Mohd Zafri in the 30th minute.
