KUALA LUMPUR: Pandelela Rinong finished fourth in the women’s 10m platform at the Beijing leg of the World Series on Sunday, while Cheong Jun Hoong failed to make an impression in her first outing in the event since winning the world title in Budapest last year.

Pandelela posted a 353.85 total in the final to finish behind China’s gold medallist Zhang Jiaqi (439.10), silver medallist Ren Qian (432.30) and North Korea’s bronze medallist Kim Kuk Hyang (432.30).

Jun Hoong failed to advance to the final after finishing fifth in the semi-finals with a 312.70 series.

The Ipoh-born, however, did not set a target for the event as she is using it to prepare for next month’s Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Malaysia ended their campaign in the Beijing leg with one silver through Jun Hoong and Pandelela in the platform synchro event.

The divers will head to Fuji, Japan for the second leg of the World Series on Friday.
