KUALA LUMPUR: Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah delivered Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) Racing Team its maiden race win in the Asia Road Racing Championship at the Zhuhai International Circuit (round two) today.

Hafizh, who claimed pole position in qualifying yesterday, emerged victorious in race one of the ASB1000 class today after leading for the majority of the race on his Ducati Panigale V4R .

Andi Farid Izdihar (Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo) came in second (+0.754s) while Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (+2.388s) was third.

Hafizh dedicated the win to the Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is the JDT owner.

"It was not an easy race, I struggled to stop the bike in the last three laps," said Hafizh, during the post-race interview.

"This is the first win for JDT, I have to thank the team and everyone who has supported me, especially my boss (Tunku Ismail), this win is for you."

During round one at Buriram last month, Hafizh failed to finish race one but bounced back to secure second place in race two.

The former MotoGP rider is hoping to continue his form in race two at Zhuhai tomorrow.
