SEPANG: The FIM Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC) was last held on Malaysian shores back in 2015, and fast forward to present day, now the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) returns to host the Asia level race this weekend.

For this weekend’s action, fans and spectators will not only be able to witness the thrills and spills of racing, but they will be able to do so for free from the grandstand and also enjoy competition from a whole new class introduced this year, the ASB1000cc.

As many as thirteen experienced riders will be chasing after the win in the premier class in Sepang and among the big names that will be featuring this weekend are none other than former Malaysian Moto2 rider Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman and Zaqhwan Zaidi.

The accomplished Malaysian rider is expected to go up against other top, experienced riders who have made a name for themselves on the international stage, such as Broc Parkes and Yuki Ito.

In the SuperSport 600cc class, competition will be very tight with young riders such as former Moto3 rider Adam Norrodin, Ramdan Rosli and Md Helmi Azman expected to be in the leading pack as they will be eager to perform as best they can on home soil and get the better of the other seven riders of various different nationalities.

Also taking place at SIC this weekend will be the 150cc underbone class that will also be an exciting race to watch for many Malaysian fans, as two of the most popular bikes on Malaysian roads will be on the circuit, namely the Honda RS150R and the Yamaha Y15ZR.

For this particular class, there will be a field of 34 riders taking part, while the Asia Production 250 race will have 26 riders on the starting grid.
