The Speedy Tigresses, who had earlier lost 7-0 to Spain and 3-0 to Canada, finished bottom of the table.

Malaysia will now play the third placing team in Group A, possibly South Korea or Ireland, in the 5th-8th classification match.

Britain scored through Hannah French (17th, 59th), Isabelle Petter (19th), Tessa Howard (24th), Giselle Ansley (27th), Sarah Jones (29th), Tessa Howard (30th) and Giselle Ansley (43rd).

Malaysia scored their first goal of the tournament through Nur Afiqah Azhar in the 56th minute off a field attempt.
