KUALA LUMPUR: Even kids are coming forward to help the Red Giants, who have been slapped with a "heavy" RM100,000 fine, by the Malaysian Football League (MFL).

The MFL punished Selangor FC yesterday after they did not show up for the Charity Shield match against Johor Darul Ta'zim at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on May 10 due to safety concerns following an acid attack on their star, Faisal Halim.

Facebook user Ng Chee Kean posted yesterday that his sons were willing to donate their savings to help Selangor pay the fine.

"Upin Ipin (a light-hearted reference to his sons) have a freekick fund. They want to donate to Selangor FC to help pay for MFL's fine.

"If it is not enough, they will score more freekicks. They want to help Selangor as Selangor always help them.

"To the Malaysian Football League, take the kids' money that they saved every day from football practice," read the post.

From Chee Kean's FB page, it is learnt that his sons are part of Selangor's youth set-up.
