KLANG: The Sultan of Selangor Cup (TSSC) received strong backing this year with roughly RM1.8 million in sponsorship being secured.
Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, accompanied by Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah received the sponsorship at Istana Alam Shah here today.
TSSC chairman Tan Sri Abd Karim Munisar disclosed that the state government contributed RM1 million towards the event.
Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated, Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd, Worldwide Holdings Berhad, KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd, Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Koridor Utiliti Selangor and Aerofront City Development were among the other sponsors.
TSSC will be held on Aug 17 at the Merdeka Stadium.
The annual friendly competition between Selangor and Singapore was first held in 2001.
