KUALA LUMPUR: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) will not lodge a police report over a viral poison-pen letter, but will instead let an independent integrity committee look into the matter.

The integrity committee comprises members of the Royal Malaysian Police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Earlier, in response to a viral email, FAM said it would make a police report and launch an internal investigation.

On Sunday, an email alleged there were bribery, fraud, and mishandling of funds in the national football association. It also claimed that FAM president Datuk Seri Hamidin Amin gets a RM90,000 monthly salary.

FAM deputy president Datuk Yusoff Mahadi said their main concern is looking into a claim about a "tender" for the Malaysia Training Centre in Putrajaya, which has given the public a negative perception of the national association.

Asked if the MACC had knocked on Wisma FAM door, Yusoff said he had no knowledge of this as he is not part of the secretariat.

He added that FAM will meet all its staff personally to hear their grouses.

"There are plenty of claims involving the staff, so our approach is to meet with every one of them to hear their point of view, whether good or bad.

"Sometimes there are right and wrong. When I worked last time, sometimes I didn't like my boss, but others did, so we take into consideration all these factors," said Yusoff.
