KUALA LUMPUR: Abolish the restrictions on on-loan players in the M-League.

That is the call from sports observer Sadek Mustafa on the rule of loanees not allowed to take the field against their parent clubs.

Sadek feels that such a restriction is not healthy for Malaysian football.

He said the rule on loanees not allowed to play against their parent clubs is primarily adopted by the English Premier League.

EPL rules state that players can't play against their parent clubs in the Premier League, but are able to do so for cup competitions.

"I think we need to be open in the sense that every competition needs to be on par. We need to give benefits to both parties (parent club and players on loan.

"Take for example, Johor Darul Ta'zim. As they are a great club, then why shouldn't their players on loan be able to play against their parent club?"
