KUALA LUMPUR: A football fan, who has taken it upon himself to be a talent scout, has recommended a Dutch-born player for the national team.

And 25-year-old Ferdy Druijf has a mother of Malaysian-descent, making him eligible as a naturalised player. He is said to be on FAM's social media.

Born in Uitgeest, Druijf started his career with AZ Alkmaar Youth Academy before making their main squad in 2019.

Druijf has scored 112 goals in 226 appearances in his career. The former Netherlands Under-20 player had turned out for the Orange's Under-20, Under-18 and Under-17 teams.

He stands at 1.9m and is said to have blistering speed and versatility. He can play as attacking midfielder or as a striker.
