KOTA BARU: The salary arrears issue, which has been affecting the team since August, has been successfully resolved through a win-win formula involving the club's management, officers, coaching staff, and players, according to Kelantan United FC (KUFC).

Its chief executive officer, Wan Zul Ikmal Wan Abdul Aziz said that they had previously issued a memo on the salary payment schedule, which was agreed upon by all parties involved.

"We (KUFC) have always been committed to clearing all arrears when we started the payment process in mid-December last year, which covers half of the August salary before the last Super League game.

"A day after that game, the club paid September salary to all staff, coaches and players," he said in a statement issued today (Jan 2).

Wan Zul Ikmal added that according to the agreed schedule, payment for the remaining balance for August was made on December 31.

"However, due to some unavoidable technical issues, the club management has taken steps to contact players and staff to explain the situation.

"Nevertheless, we immediately credited salaries to players and staff who needed the outstanding balance," he said.

He said players or officers who have yet to receive the balance of their August salary will get their payment tomorrow (Jan 3).

"The three outstanding monthly salaries for October, November and last month will be settled on Jan 15 and Jan 31, which will cover all outstanding salaries for the 2023 season.

"The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has been notified of the payment schedule for the salary arrears," he said. – Bernama
