DOHA: The devastating 4-0 loss to Jordan on Monday has not shattered Harimau Malaya's confidence, said defender Shahrul Saad.

He said the players still believe in their own abilities amid concerns that the team might suffer a confidence crsis after they were brutally exposed by Jordan.

On the setback against world No. 87 Jordan, Shahrul said: "It's not that we didn't play well. We had possession, we took shots and attacked."

"But Jordan took advantages of their opportunities."

Shahrul, however, admitted that despite all their preparations, they were still overran by the Chivalrous Ones.

"I still have belief in the team and in the players. There's quality. We have to get ourselves together.

"The feeling among the players is that we want to take on Bahrain and get a good result."

Shahrul revealed that Kim Pan Gon apologised to the players after the humiliating defeat, but he said it was not the Korean coach's fault.

"Pan Gon apologised but it's not his fault. We didn't lose because of him or any single player. We lost as a team.

"I still believe that things will be different when we play Bahrain."
