KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu supporters are not satisfied with the clarification provided by the FA of Malaysia (FAM) yesterday regarding the standard of refereeing in the Malaysia Cup final on Friday.

The Turtles fans demand that referee S. Logeswaran apologise to them and be fined and dropped from officiating matches.

Terengganu FC Supporters Club president Mohd Isa Che Ariffin claimed that FAM's clarification appeared to be biased.

Terengganu lost 3-1 to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the final.

"We can accept the answer regarding the six Fifa-level referees who were unavailable but why was Kedah's Amirul Izwan Yaacob, who has been a Fifa referee since 2012, not mentioned by FAM," said Isa.

"Even the explanation regarding the sixth minute penalty given to JDT was weak and appeared as if they want to conceal the mistake of the referee from Selangor.

"A lot of ex-players, coaches and referees said the penalty should not have been given.

"We also saw the initial decision to not award Terengganu a penalty in 21st minute, which showed bias on the part of the referee.

"If not because of assistant referee, the penalty would not have been given.

"FAM also did not touch on the issue of the red card that should have been given to JDT captain Jordi Amat who clearly fouled Terengganu's Ivan Mamut from behind in the penalty as well as other infractions.

"It was as if FAM had given the referee their blessings to commit these 'sins' against Terengganu."

He added that TFC demands another explanation from FAM to clarify issues they did not touch on. They also want the sixth minute penalty to be reviewed.
